The Bushnell Golf Pinseeker 1500 features the ability to scan the golf course and have a continuous updated LCD display of the yards between you and what you are viewing, so you can see how far you are to hazards such as sand traps, ponds, or out of bounds markers.  You can toggle between meters or yards, whatever you prefer, there is a battery life indicator, and also a signal strength indicator.

Basically, the Bushnell Neo Golf GPS is the absolute perfect golf GPS rangefinder for anyone looking for something reasonably priced, accurate, simple to use, and just wants to know how many yards to the front, center, and back of the green.  It will also tell you how far you have hit the ball too.  This thing is very simple to use and has a nice 2 inch back-lit LCD screen for easy viewing.  It is also water proof so it can be used in all conditions.  It’s very small and compact and can easily be worn on your belt or hung from your golf bag.  A quick glance is all you need to tell you exactly how far from the hole you are.

I received my Sonocaddie V300 from Amazon last week. The software installation went well on my laptop but created a minor challenge on my desktop. Registration was trivial, with the “free” Eagle membership being automatically granted without having to request it. I immediately downloaded all the courses I normally play, and the process was quite fast. I have used the Sonocaddie on the course, and it is very effective. I especially like knowing the distances to the green even if you are far off the fairway. It agrees quite well with the markers on my home course. I acquired 11 GPS satellites within 5 minutes the first time I powered up the unit. And, it is refreshing not to have a $50 annual fee as in SkyCaddie or a $25 fee for Golflogix (your unit is useless unless you are current in your membership with those companies). I decided it was much more important to see the relative layout of the entire hole, especially for courses not previously played, so I chose the V300 versus other brands. I could not be more pleased. I Highly recommended the Skycaddie sg5 golf GPS.

This unit is great and completely full of features. The Subscription was only $40 for a full year and you can put up to 10 courses on the GPS for that price. There are more expensive subscriptions available if you want to have more courses or even international courses. You can even switch courses on the GPS as much as you want to.
This even had the specs for my favorite “remodeled” course which was finished in February. Very up-to-date info.

Very Accurate too! It measures to the center of the green and will even measure your drive distance. Problem is, when other people on the course see my skycaddie that all want to “play” with it. It can slow down the game.

Saturday morning I woke up bright and early and took it out to a course I had never visited before to see just how well this investment would pay off. Looking at the top-down, color view of every hole from tee to green, I knew everything I needed to know to reach the green in regulation–it didn’t matter that I hadn’t been here before.

On a par 5 with a sharp left dogleg, I used the Garmin to determine the distance to the middle of the left bend. I touched the screen and pinpointed a spot 190 yds to the center of the fairway, with bunkers on the left. I grabbed my 3I hybrid and let ‘er rip. Perfect shot! Right in the center of the bend, and a straight shot at the green 250 yds away. A 3W got me to about 50 yds, and then a (lucky) little pitch and I was up and down for birdie!
